EXECUTIVE CAPACITY TRAINING SERIES

Each month, OCAAR hosts training series specifically designed for individuals managing non-profit recovery support services and related organizations. These courses offer Continuing Education Units for participants and are hosted by experienced professionals in the related field.

Soft Skills for Peer Professionals

  • Harvard University research reveals that 85% of job success comes from well-developed soft skills. And only 15% is attributed to technical skills.

  • Also called “People Skills”, this will be a focused training on Soft Skills for Peer Professionals and Peer Leaders including office etiquette, communication skills, personal attributes, work ethic and work style skills, emotional intelligence, adaptability, collaboration & teamwork, critical thinking, and more!

OCAAR is excited to offer Ohio's Recovery Peer Support Booster Program! This 7-module series will equip and empower peers to take their support to the next level! Take one course or take them all and earn 1 CEU Credit for each course. Each day costs $5 to attend.

ADVOCACY TRAINING

Our advocacy training is available for persons in recovery, friends, family, and other allies.  This training is 2-3 hours long and covers a variety of related information, including; advocacy vs. lobbying, deliberative dialogue, how to tell your story, using your story to make an impact, information about the legislative process, and other ways to get involved.  This training is offered free of service and can be customized to fit the needs of the audience.

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE

OCAAR is able to provide in-depth training on matters surrounding the management of non-profit organizations and recovery services organizations.
