TOWN HALLS

“To be an activist is to speak. To be an advocate is to listen. Society can’t move forward without both.” – Eva Marie Lewis
OCAAR values lived experience. It is our conviction that the best source for understanding and fixing our challenges comes from people who have directly experienced them. Every month, we travel the state and visit with Ohioans in recovery to hear their struggle, learn about the barriers they face, and find out what could help them achieve their goals.
This insight defines our platform, what we fight for day in and day out. This approach helps us to stay on top of pressing and current issues in Ohio and to focus our efforts on the most productive ideas.
Join us, please! If you have direct experience with substance abuse disorder, attend a Town Hall near you and make your voice heard.

HOST A TOWN HALL:
Interested in hosting a Town Hall? You will need access to a free or low-cost space that can hold up to 50 people. Ideally, there will be a projector screen and connection, but it's not necessary. (Libraries, churches, and civic centers often have space if you do not)
Events last about one hour.
